Claremont Amateur Radio Society (CARS) Swap Meet

The Monthly Claremont Amateur Radio Swap Meet has turned out to be quite an event for us GOTAhams to attend. We will have a booth set up to promote our club offering free donuts and coffee. We will also have an HF station set up for you to operate or maybe test that new antenna you just purchased at the meet. This is a reoccurring event every third Saturday of the month, except in the month of December. Granite Creek Community Church, 1580 N. Claremont Blvd, Claremont, CA 91711 –  6am – 11am

Disclaimer, The GOTAhams are NOT affiliated with the CARS Claremont Radio/electronics swap meet. We participate as attendees and pass this information as a courtesy only.

Hams & Eggs! After the Claremont Amateur Radio swap let’s bring back the tradition of meeting at a local restaurant for lunch, Casa Jimenez Mexican restaurant 921 W. Foothill Blvd Claremont CA 91711

    1. No. Unfortunately we still don’t know when the Claremont swap meet will start up again. It’s defiantly canceled for November. We are however in contact with Scott (the coordinator) and he will notify us of any changes and we will then post it on our website asap.

  1. During a recent Conversation with Scott Fineberg KG6ABF, (swap meet organizer) he did offer that the swap meet would
re-commence when LA county entered the “Yellow Tier”.
We are confident that LA county is on track to enter that tier very soon, but nothing has gone as expected for a very long time.
We will keep our hopes up and do our best to keep everyone informed. Check this website, and our nightly net on
    449.160 – (77.0) at 8:00 PM

As of May 6th when LA County entered the “Yellow Tier”, the state and LA County did not include “group gatherings” in the allowances, apparently they have moved that target to the next Tier? We are waiting for the next “openings”.
We are now awaiting the next wave of Tier changes? and although the CDC has dropped nearly all “Mask Mandates” Our state and County in all their “Political” wisdom have opted to maintain their control over the populous.
With any luck June might see the return of our local Radio swap meets?
When there is any change with either the TRW or Claremont Swap meets I will post it on this website and GOTAhams will also mention them on their nightly net on 449.160 (77.0) Sunset Ridge, 8:00 pm.

  2. I am waiting with anticipation for the Clairmont Swapmeet bro reopen! I’ve always enjoyed attending those as both a seller and a shopper. have a plethora of various radio goodies ready to sell there, so when you open up, hopefully, there will be pent up demand too!!
Afterwards, I also meet up with friends there who later like to meet for brunch at the Coco’s restaurant in Foothill Blvd and Euclid. The Swapmeet is a nice local event (I live in Oak Hills, near Hesperia), that I look forward to attending.
